These 0.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes with attached flat tops are ideal for storing small amounts of pollen, such as just one, two or three anthers...more if diploid pollen. After collecting the pollen and allowing to dry indoors for 6 hours or more, place the anthers in the tube. If you can write small with a very fine pen, write the initials on the cap, or on the side in the frosted area. Or you can assign a number or letter to the daylily name and write this on the cap or side. Keep the microtubes with the pollen in a ziplock bag or in a storage rack (see Page 10), or other container, and store in the freezer. These microtubes are 7 cm x 30 cm, or 1/4" in diameter by 1-3/16" long.
