These thermal, polyethylene plant tags, 7" x 3/4", have a very smooth surface 

on both sides. They are 10 mil in thickness compared to the 12.5  mil thickness of

the vinyl plant tags. Because of the smoothness of the surface of the thermal tags, 

some permanent markers will not work. The Sharpie pen is easily rubbed off but may 

work for shipping purposes if the Industrial type is used. Some permanent pens that 

will work are the Sakura Identi-Pen, the Sakura Permapaque Opaque Pigment 

Marker and the black paint sticks, such as DecoColor available at Walmart. 

Besides the two Sakura marking pens, I also have a Sanford Uni-Paint opaque, 

oil-based paint marker listed. The Sakura pens, and possibly

other permanent markers are satisfactory for shipping and will last for at least

one season exposed to the weather. The black, oil-based paint sticks will last the 

longest outside but take longer to dry.

These thermal tags in the 7" x 3/4" size are less expensive than the 7" x 5/8" vinyl tags.

They are perforated and are easily separated. Color is white or lime. The vinyl tags that are currently listed in this storefront are no longer being manufactured and are in limited supply.
